The National Consumer Commission (NCC) conducted week-long inspections/ market monitoring
of at least 38 Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) suppliers in the Western Cape from 2-8
September 2024, focusing on the Cape Town Metro. The NCC joined up with officials from the
Western Cape Health Department, Environmental Health Practitioners (EHPs) from the City of
Cape Town, and the National Compulsory Regulatory Specifications.
