21 MAY 2025
The National Consumer Commission (NCC) hereby provides an update on the recalled Ford Ranger light commercial vehicle made available for sale in 2024.
Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa informed the NCC that the recall is due to the front lower control arm (FLCA) that may have been fitted on the left-hand side of the vehicle instead of the correct front lower control arm (FLCA). The separation of the joint may result in loss of control of the affected wheel, with the corresponding effect on the vehicle handling increasing. This may increase the risk of a crash or injury.
These vehicles were distributed nationally and exported to Namibia, Botswana, and Swaziland. Consumers are required to contact the nearest authorised dealership for an appointment to have the defect repaired.
