On 07 October 2024, Belkin Limited notified the Consumer Commission (NCC) of a recall of the Belkin BoostCharge Pro Fast Wireless Charger for the Apple Watch + Power Bank 10K, BPD005.

According to Belkin Limited, manufacturing defects may cause the portable wireless battery charger’s lithium cell component to overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

The Belkin BoostCharge Pro Fast Wireless Charger for the Apple Watch + Power Bank 10K, BPD005 is sold online and through Fast Forward (Pty) Ltd. The product was made available in the market in June 2023. Consumers who have this product are urged to discontinue use, dispose of the product and contact the supplier for a full refund.

The NCC is monitoring this recall based on the Product Recall provisions of the Consumer Protection Action read with the product recall safety guidelines.
