The National Consumer Commission (NCC) inspected suppliers of Fast-Moving Consumer
Goods (FMCG) in both Northern Cape and Gauteng provinces. This was done to ascertain
compliance with the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). In the Northern Cape, the
NCC collaborated with officials from the Northern Cape Consumer Affairs Office, Environmental
Health Practitioners from the Municipal Health Services, the Department of Home Affairs, South
African Police Services, as well as the Community Policing Forum
