Product safety recall – Groovy Baby ‘I Spy a Fly’ board book

The National Consumer Commission (NCC) notifies consumers about a product recall as notified by Make Believe Ideas Ltd (MBI). The recall affects one hundred and twenty (120) units, which were sold nationally from February 2025 to August 2026.

According to MBI, the Groovy Baby ‘I Spy a Fly’ board book (ISBN-13: 9781836422600) may, in some instances, have the fly’s wings on the last page detach when pulled, posing a potential choking hazard. The affected books have a green frog with orange netting on the front cover. The final page shows a purple fly with googly eyes and four iridescent plastic wings. The book is marked for ages 0+.

Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the book, pull the wings off the last page, cut each wing into four pieces and take a photograph of the 16 pieces on or adjacent to the last page, before disposing of the pieces in a bin that is inaccessible to children and sending the photograph to MBI for a full refund.
