The National Consumer Commission (NCC) notifies consumers that Mercedes-Benz South Africa (Mercedes) is recalling five (5) Mercedes-Benz G-Class (G580) vehicles currently in the possession of end consumers in South Africa.
According to Mercedes, the affected vehicles may have wheel bolts that do not meet specification requirements. This defect may result in the wheel connection loosening over time while driving, which could impair driving stability and increase the risk of an accident.
Affected consumers are urged to take this recall seriously and arrange for the necessary inspection and repair at their nearest authorised Mercedes-Benz dealership. All corrective work relating to this recall will be carried out at no cost to the consumer.
Questions and queries relating to this recall may be directed to: ProductRecall@thencc.org.za.
